iToBoS representatives attended the event “Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) systems”, organized by Centre of Innovation for Data tech and Artificial Intelligence (CIDAI) online on May 8th, 2024.
The emergence of large-scale language models and their application in retrieval-augmented text generation (RAG) generates new opportunities for many sectors, triggering the development of natural language processing technologies for text search and generation.
The event was conducted by researchers in the Applied Artificial Intelligence and researchers in Language Technologies and included an introduction to Retrieval Augmented Generation, the presentation of advanced developments of Retrieval Augmented Generation and the presentation of a use case (RAG for the legal portal of Catalonia). The talk event presented the application of LLMs for RAG, exploring how this technology can establish a new standard for human interaction with unstructured knowledge databases and showing how its application can allow new models of access to information. As a consequence, the advancement of more precise and higher quality generative AI systems is promoted.
Finally, a question-and-answer session was held covering various topics discussed during the masterclass.
