The University of Queensland’s Dermatology Research Centre hosted the 2023 Alan Cooper Epiderm Lecture on 25th August with a presentation by iToBoS collaborator Professor Peter Soyer.
Prof Soyer spoke to an audience of 70 about the development of technology for early melanoma detection, starting from naked eye examination to dermoscopy, to total body imaging and the expanding field of AI diagnostic support. The international iToBoS consortium was discussed as an example of the interdisciplinary, international flavour of collaboration necessary to bring this vision to fruition.
Professor Soyer was also announced as the inaugural holder of the St Baker-Soyer Chair in Dermatology at The University of Queensland, a perpetual chair established by well-known Queensland philanthropists Trevor and Judith St Baker.
