Hannover, 22-24/09/2024.
The "Humboldt meets Leibniz" conference, themed "Connecting Talents across Generations," brought together biomedical engineering researchers from six continents at Leibniz University Hannover from September 22-24, 2024.
Fifteen Alexander von Humboldt Foundation awardees from Australia, the UK, India, Canada, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Sweden, Turkey, and the US engaged with 130 early-career scientists over two days.
This biannual conference, organized by Leibniz University Hannover in collaboration with the Humboldt Foundation and Volkswagen Foundation, enhances Hannover's international scientific profile. Attendees from countries such as Algeria, Australia, Brazil, China, Georgia, and Nepal explored global career opportunities and shared their research.
This year's theme, "Emerging Topics in Biomedical Engineering and Implant Research," aligned with LUH's biomedical engineering focus. Collaborative efforts, including the Hearing4All Excellence Cluster and SIIRI, and the interdisciplinary NIFE center, have established Hannover as a leader in implant research. The conference also addressed critical questions about implant durability, inflammation, and rejection, and featured interactive sessions, networking, and career development discussions.
