iToBoS at 16th Optatec in Frankfurt

Frankfurt, 14-16/05/2024.

The iToBoS project was presented at the 16th Optatec from 14 - 16 of May 2024 in Frankfurt, Germany.

Optatec is a leading international trade fair for optical components, optomechanics, optical metrology and manufacturing, as well as other electronic technologies. The iToBoS project partner Optotune participated in the fair with a booth.

Among other products, the liquid lens module ELM-75 was on display. The lens was developed by Optotune within iToBoS project. It contains Optotune’s newly developed tunable liquid lens EL-16-40-GTC with gravity compensation. The ELM-75 is the world-wide first product that implements gravity compensation that enables the optical performance of the iToBoS full body scanner.

The ELM-75 is an integral part of the iToBoS Intelligent Total Body Scanner that enables the system to take medical images with an optical resolution of as good as 20 micrometers at working distanced in the range of several 100mm.

Optotune expects that the gravity compensation technology that was developed in the framework of the iToBoS project will become one of the company's core technologies in the coming years, allowing the use of our liquid lenses in environments and applications previously excluded. The real-world application of this technology in the EU Horizon 2020 iToBoS project is one of the proofs of its potential.
