Jena, 26/09/2024.
The iToBoS project was highlighted at En-Tech Talks on 26 September 2024 in Jena, Germany.
Dr. Rolf Eckert of Optotune, a project partner in the Horizon 2020 funded project iToBoS, presented Optotune’s unique liquid lens technology in his talk at the En-Talks workshop with title “Fast and highly reliable focussing with tunable lenses”.
The highlight of the presentation was Optotune’s gravity compensation (GC) for tunable liquid lenses, which was developed in the framework of the iToBoS project. This new technology is key for the optical image quality of the Intelligent Total Body Scanner for detecting skin cancer scanner developed by the iToBoS consortium.
The talk was well received by the audience and triggered many discussions with compagnies from the medical industry.
Optotune expects this technology to become one of the company's core technologies in the coming years. The real-world application of this technology in the EU Horizon 2020 iToBoS project is one of the proofs of its potential.
