iToBoS presented in the European Researchers Night 2024

Athens, 27/09/2024.

The European Researchers' Night is a Europe-wide event that aims to showcase the role of science in society in an engaging, interactive and accessible way.

In 2024, the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) organized the event for the eleventh consecutive year, bringing together universities and research centers from across Attica. The event took place on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 5 pm to 10 pm at the historic NTUA building in the heart of the city center.

The event provided an opportunity for the public—young children, students, teachers, and science enthusiasts—to interact with researchers and learn more about ongoing projects. Among the many research initiatives presented, the contributions of the NTUA Remote Sensing Lab to the iToBoS project were showcased. The presentation focused on the project’s progress, goals, and future vision in this final year of activity.

This year’s event stood out as the most visited in its history, attracting significant interest from young researchers, high school and university students, private companies, and Greek stakeholders. The increased turnout and enthusiastic participation highlighted the event’s growing impact on strengthening connections between science and society.

As outstanding personalities, it is worth highlighting Mr. Christos Staikouras, Minister of Infrastructure and Transportation, and Professor Dr. Eng. Ioannis K. Chatjigeorgiou, Rector of the NTUA.
