iToBoS project was presented in the 15th Optatec, International trade fair for optical technologies, components and systems. The event took place in Frankfurt, Germany, from 18 to 20 of October 2022.
OPTATEC is a trade fair for optical components, optomechanics, optical metrology and manufacturing, as well as other electronic technologies. Optotune, a member of the iToBoS project, participated in the fair presenting the gravity coma compensation that is implemented in iToBoS lenses, among other optical products. As a new technology, it had been tested in the laboratory, but none of the products offered on the market had it implemented as of the date of this event. The lens for the iToBoS project, based on the existing EL-16-40-TC, will be the first lens with built-in coma gravity compensation.
Optotune expects this to become one of the company's core technologies in the coming years, enabling the use of our liquid lenses in environments and applications previously excluded. The real-world application of this technology in the EU Horizon 2020 iToBoS project is one of the proofs of its potential.
