iToBoS 6th GA and 5th PMB meetings

Madrid, 5-6/10/2023.

The iToBoS 6th General Assembly (GA) and 5th Project Management Board (PMB) meetings took place on October 5th and 6th, 2023, in Madrid.

Both meetings were hosted by BOSCH Spain in their facilities at Calle de los Hermanos Garcia Noblejas 19, Madrid and organized in collaboration with the University of Girona (UDG), as project coordinator.

Regarding the GA meeting, on the first day (October 5th), the team conducted an in-depth analysis of the iToBoS project. This encompassed a review of its current status, accomplishments, outstanding tasks, delivered items, and the milestones achieved thus far. The project is advancing satisfactorily and aligning with the performance metrics established in the contingency plan, as outlined in the project amendment.

On the second day of the meeting (October 6th), a XAI and Privacy Worshop was organized by Trilateral, lead beneficiary of WP2. This workshop provided a comprehensive overview of the AI developments by our technical partners, namely Torus Action, NTUA and FHHI. Following these presentations, we engaged in discussions concerning our ethical AI principles and their critical role in the realm of explainable AI (xAI).

The thought-provoking group discussions underscored the pivotal role of factors such as explainability, transparency, fairness, and privacy in shaping the projects AI tools. Together, we will create a roadmap towards a responsible and trustworthy AI solution for melanoma. Our ethics-by-design approach will continue to evolve for the remainder of the project.

Later, Bosch organized several visits with attendees to the iToBoS scanner.

In total, thirty participants attended in-person and 6 through videoconference in both meetings, where all beneficiary entities were represented.

The Project Management Board (PMB) meeting took place on the afternoon of October 5th. The PMB members discussed the next steps, updates, delays, critical aspects and problems to solve in the project. In this meeting have attended in total sixteen face-to-face participants and four through videoconference, including the Project Coordinator (PC), the Project Manager (PM), the Quality Assurance Manager (QAM), the Innovation and Exploitation Manager (IEM), the Dissemination and Communication Manager (DCM), the Data Manager (DM) and the WP leaders.
